U.N. Secretary-Generals report on the human rights situation in the DPRK

This report provides an update to the United Nations General Assembly on the human rights situation in the DPRK over the past year.  It includes the situation of human rights in the context of COVID-19, and the challenges the pandemic poses to peoples access to food, water and healthcare.  It presents an update on the situation of people in places of detention, as well as developments in respect of fundamental freedoms, freedom of movement, the right to work, separated families and international abductions.  The report also illustrates an overview of the DPRKs engagement with the United Nations human rights system over the past year.  It ends with the Secretary-Generals conclusions, and a list of recommendations to the DPRK Government and the international community on steps needed to improve the human rights situation in the DPRK.
