In Paris, the FIDH contacted the advisor to DPRK representative in Paris on his mobile phone, who received an email, the letter addressed to Kim Jong Il in French and Korean. He carefully listened to explanations about the letter and the ICNK. FIDH clearly asked whether it would be possible to meet him personally and talk in depth about the human rights situation in DPRK.
The advisor replied by raising doubts about the ICNK’s sources. At the end of the discussion, he said that the representative himself would decide whether the representation would reply to the questions raised in the letter and meet the FIDH in a face-to-face meeting.
