What is the agenda for North Korean human rights hearing on 25th at UK Parliament?
o Here is some of agenda.
o First: redefine the term North Korean defector to stop Chinese government forcibly returning North Koreans in China.
- Defectors are refugees who crossed a border avoiding political suppress and human right abuses in North Korea, not for an economic reason Chinese government argues. If Kim Jong Eun regime did not starve North Korean people, or did not suppress people brutally, there would have been no defectors crossing the border putting their lives in stake.
- Defectors are not criminals. They reborn as human beings with free souls via defection. It should be understood as North Korean democratisation movement.
- Therefore, N.Korean refugee should be replaced for N.Korean defector and N.Korean of free volition should be replaced for defectors, parting from absurd assertion. We hope the media help us to achieve our mission.
o Second: Early collapse of Kim Jong Eun regime, a core of North Korean human right abuses and defector issues, and establishing an alternative government abroad.
- Representatives of North Koreans of free volition should gather together to investigate the cause of the outbreak of defectors, and seek the solutions.
- The main cause of North Korean human right issues including prison camps and Chinas force return of defectors is the suppression by Kim Jong Eun regime. Only the early collapse of the regime will solve the problem.
- However, internal North Korea has no capability to defeat the regime; neither has capability to nurture democracy nor opening up the country due to a tight surveillance and idolisation education. It must be sought from outside the country.
- The external movement must be actively imported to North Korea via measures such as Free NK (on line paper run by the EU North Korean Residents Society), and by establishing North Korean refugee government abroad. It will accelerate democracy and opening-up in North Korea which will ultimately lead to improve human rights.
o We will listen to the testimony given by Dong-Hyuk Shin on North Koreas human right abuses he experienced in North Korean prison camp.
