The Working Group for Human Rights and SDGs in North Korea is pleased to formally invite you to our upcoming webinar, "A Human Rights-based Approach to the SDGs in the DPRK: Focusing on vulnerable groups and calling for collective efforts in times of COVID-19."

On July 13, the DPRK will present its progress towards the SDGs in its Voluntary National Review (VNR) at the High Level Political Forum (HLPF) in New York.  Heightened restrictions and isolation during the pandemic have affected the implementation of the 2030 Agenda, disproportionately affecting marginalized groups including women, children, and persons with disabilities.

Moreover, systemic corruption and exploitation of people's cash, resources and labor must be eradicated to build a peaceful and inclusive society. The webinar will offer a timely opportunity for the international community to revisit and consider collective efforts in adopting a rights-based approach to achieving the SDGs in light of COVID-19.
