North Korean hospitals performed poorly on emergency wartime readiness drills
North Korea has recently carried a five-day drill for hospital employees nationwide to test their readiness in war. Employees were tested to set up field hospital tents, transport equipment and practice carrying patients on stretchers.
Hospitals nationwide performed very poorly, showing a large shortage of tents, equipment, and medicine. In addition, tents were found to be old, used over many years and easily torn here and there.
Civil defense Ministry officials watched the whole training, and nurses were left exhausted, without strength at the end of the day.
