North Koreans are using programs to circumvent the government
Young talented North Koreans at high-ranking universities and research labs and centers are developing new software programs to get around government surveillance on mobile phones.
These new programs allow people to enjoy foreign movies, videos, and cultural shows on their Korean electronic devices without getting caught.
North Koreans including wealthy people, military and officials are seeking out these programs, paying up to USD 60 without the price of the USB or external hard drive that comes along.
North Korean authorities are tightening their crackdowns and recently ordered all mobile phone users and registered computer owners to update the software on their devices
