Street vendors forcibly mobilized to weed fields
North Korean police has recently been cracking down on street vendors in the aim of providing support to farms suffering labor shortages.
The crackdowns happened in Pyongan Province and streetside vendors caught were stripped off their wares and dragged off to local farms to pick weeds without compensation.
A woman in her 30s with a malnourished 3 year old child collapsed in the field after 5 days of labor.
