North Koreans are having a difficult time charging cell phones due to the frequent electricity blackouts.

Radio Free Asia has reported from a source that in the current tense state the country finds itself in, electricity supply is not being provided frequently, so the North Korean people are having a tough time of it. The source added that it is hard to make a call to family in North Korea because of the insufficient electricity.

The source said that some middle-class or rich people use Chinese gas generators. However, these generators also have a high cost of maintenance. Some people use a solar battery, but these are hard to use when the sun does not appear.
