A female market management office manager from Chongjin has been executed. The manager was arrested back in 2009 for alleged corruption. According to reports, the corruption seemingly was not the reason for her execution.
The woman strongly denounced the regime’s plans to make the country prosperous by 2012 when the initial investigations into corruption began. The Daily NK reports that this denouncement made it to the ears of Kim Jong Il. He is said to have ordered that she be detained for three years.
A source told the Daily NK that the woman was badly beaten during the execution.
