Foreigners in North Korea will soon be allowed access to the internet on their cell phones. Associated Presss Pyongyang Bureau broke the news late last week.
The announcement that foreigners would be allowed access to the internet follows reports in January that foreigners would be allowed to carry their cell phones in to the country when visiting. The new changes are set to come in to place no later than March 1st according to Koryolink, the joint North Korean-Egyptian communications project.
Chinas Xinhua News Agency has leaked the price plans for the service. Unsurprisingly, the price of access will not come cheaply. A USB modem will cost 75 Euros and a sim card that can connect to the internet will set visitors back 150 Euros. Both prices are exclusive of data charges.
