The North Korean government has rescinded its offer for U.S. envoy Robert King to visit the country to negotiate the release of Kenneth Bae. Robert King was planning to travel to Pyongyang and request that the Korean-American prisoner be freed on humanitarian grounds.

Kenneth Bae is a Christian missionary who was arrested after entering North Korea as a tour operator last year. He was convicted of trying to topple the North Korean government and was sentenced to 15 years of hard labor. Due to his deteriorating health, he has reportedly been moved from a labor camp to a prison hospital.
