The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) reported that the number of people in North Korea who suffer from malnutrition hit 7,600,000. This means that 1 out of 3 people are suffering from malnutrition.

On the 1st, FAO published its “The State of Food Insecurity in the World” report and stated that the ratio of malnutrition in North Korea is the highest among Asian countries. If this trend continues, North Korea will not achieve the objective of the World Millennium Development Goals, which decreases the number of the world population suffering from malnutrition by 2015. For it, FAO said additional effort is needed.
