While accidents are frequently happening in regions of the Duman River this year, the second secretary of the party in Musan was found dead a few days ago, so law enforcement agencies are conducting a concentrated investigation.

 

On the 8th of this month, a source in North Hamkyung Province said in a phone interview with Open Radio for North Korea, “On the 2nd, the second secretary of the party in Musan was found dead in the garage of the party office of Musan. He died along with a driver in a car with the heater on.”

 

The source added, “It is not just an accidental death due to the gas of the car heater, but it is believed to be an intentional murder by someone. As evidence for this claim, the outside door of the garage was locked by someone.”

Also, the source said, “A secretary in charge of mines in a mine-rich district like Musan is called the first secretary, and a secretary in charge of regional residents is called the second secretary. Compared to other regional parties, a secretary is a high position.”

 

Last April, a large mosaic mural of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in Musan fell and was shattered, so the central organization investigated the incident intensively. Likewise, this time the law enforcement agency is fully mobilized and investigating too.

 

The source described the local atmosphere by saying, “Nothing has been revealed until now, but it is highly possible that complaints and private resentment toward the party leaders could have an influence, so people in the region are uneasy because of a concentrated investigation by the National Security Agency, the Safety Agency, and the Central Prosecutor Office.”
