Hyesan copper mine suspends rations to workers…
The Hyesan Youth Copper Mine’s production is being severely damaged by sanctions along with COVID-19 since the last two years.
At the beginning of the crisis, the mine limited rations to personal rations, excluding worker families. Workers used to receive at least five kilograms of corn as personal rations.
However, for the past months, personal rations have been suspended and the mine is failing to provide meals to miners in the tunnels resulting in workers collapsing on the job from hunger.
