Canadian Governments wishful message for human rights in North Korea Act

On November 7 2014, Irwin Cotler, a former Attorney General of Canada and present liberal MP, officially released a petition that calls on the government to adopt a human rights in North Korea act. After that, there has been increasing number of voices calling for promoting human rights in North Korea.

On January 23th, the Government of Canada expresses its position in this matter under the name of a foreign minister. Minister John Baird stated, The Government of Canada will continue to stand with the people of North Korea and the international community against the oppressive actions of the North Korean regime. showing its positive position with regards to the North Korea Human Rights Act.

In this regards, on January 28 and 29, there will be HRNK Forum with Testimonies and Federal Assembly hearing in Ottawa National Parliament, which will draw active interest on this issue.
