According to Radio Free Asia, the North Korean authorities are attempting to track peoples ownership of cars.

While the war atmosphere is rising in North Korea, the regime is attempting to track down the owners of cars. If the owner is an individual and not an entrepreneur or from a factory, then the regime are confiscating the car and registration.

A source said that this policy is being enforced in order to block individuals from selling military petroleum. Also, the source speculated that the seizures are because of Choi Boo-il, the new director of Peoples Safety Agency, attempting to increase his achievements while in power.
